Little Learners is a drop off playgroup based in Blackheath/Lee which provides a seamless learning experience for children aged 2 to 4 years old.
Our varied and exciting programme provides an excellent foundation for learning. It ensures that when the children enter pre-preparatory or nursery primary schools, they are confident, well grounded and ready to face the challenges ahead.
The Early Years Foundation Stage offers a wide variety of opportunities for learning. The preparation we provide for children’s future education is thorough and our timetable offers a balance of structured play and small group activities. Each child has an online Learning Journey Book which starts when they begin Little Learners.
Every session is carefully planed by myself, a qualified primary school teacher, and by all our members of staff. We ensure that the children are offered both child-initiated and teacher-led activities in order to enable all of the children to achieve their full potential.
Our Story
As a qualified teacher of both nursery and primary school level, with ten years of teaching behind me and a little one of my own, I knew exactly what kind of early setting I wanted to create:

Our Ethos
At Little Learners, we recognise that each child is unique and brimming with potential, and that little ones are happiest when they develop at their own pace.
Our goal is to ultimately foster a curiosity and love of learning in an environment that is supportive, stimulating and encourages self-belief.
Parent Partnership
At Little Learners we appreciate that you know your child best. So we believe that a strong partnership with parents is integral to achieving the best possible care and early learning experience for each child.
This relationship needs to be built on trust, understanding and the sharing of information.
We therefore maintain an open door policy and encourage a collaborative approach.
From their very first day with us, each child is assigned a key teacher. This person will develop a unique bond with your little one and will gain a deep understanding of how they learn, develop and form special interests.
We encourage a two way communication with your child’s key teacher. Parents and carers are welcome to drop in for an informal chat at drop-off or pick-up. Brief updates will happily be given and any advice dispensed, or you might simply like to know about the latest friendships your child has developed.
We will always listen and welcome feedback. We will consider all comments and suggestions from parents and make sure to respect families’ religious and cultural backgrounds.
We appreciate that many parents can’t be present to drop off or collect their child, so we are always happy to arrange a call to discuss any issues, if required.
Progress Updates
Get in TouchWe provide written progress checks for children aged 2 years old, describing what has been covered and how your child has progressed in the prime areas of learning and development, communication and creative skills.
We update our website regularly, so we can keep you informed of our latest news and the curriculum, and give you our tips and recommendations on games to play at home or books to look at and also show you some of the children’s art work.
